One Team, Two Specialists: How Fischer Söhne AG and Fischer Söhne Extrusion AG Work Together

Muri, 13 April 2026 Fischer Söhne’s strength lies in combining two complementary manufacturing worlds under one umbrella: high-precision injection molding (Fischer Söhne AG) and extrusion blow molding for hollow packaging (Fischer Söhne Extrusion AG). Both companies operate from Muri, work closely side by side, and coordinate engineering, production, and delivery to provide customers with a seamless “one-stop” experience.

Two companies, clear focus — one customer interface

Fischer Söhne AG focuses on life-science and healthcare solutions, including cleanroom production and injection-molded components. In our ISO 7 / GMP Class C environment, we manufacture packaging such as tubs & nests for medical syringes and related applications.

Fischer Söhne Extrusion AG specializes in extrusion blow molded packaging—from standard canisters (1–60 liters) to custom designs, produced in mono- or multi-layer co-extrusion processes.

The benefit for customers: clear specialization on the production side, while collaboration behind the scenes keeps projects efficient and coordinated.

“Everything from one source” — shown in a real example

A good illustration is our laboratory canister solution for diagnostic devices. In applications like diagnostics, customers often need more than a container: they need a complete, ready-to-use assembly that fits their device, reduces internal handling steps, and arrives reliably.

This is where the cooperation becomes tangible:

  • Extrusion blow molding provides the hollow canister body, optimized for handling and integration.
  • Injection molding contributes functional parts, interfaces, or components that are required for the final application.
  • In-house assembly and finishing bring it together into a consistent, quality-controlled solution that helps customers save time and reduce coordination effort.

Shared foundations: quality, scalability, and sustainability

Both companies share the same mindset: robust processes, reliable delivery, and practical innovation.

On the sustainability side, Fischer Söhne Extrusion AG has introduced a PCR canister made from 100% in-house recycled rHDPE, created from internal production residues that are collected, re-ground, and processed into regranulate directly at the facility. This is a concrete example of how circular approaches can be implemented without adding complexity to the supply chain.

Why this setup matters for customers

Many packaging projects fail not because of the material or the part design, but because interfaces between suppliers, processes, and responsibilities create friction. The collaboration between Fischer Söhne AG and Fischer Söhne Extrusion AG reduces those interfaces and enables:

  • faster coordination between packaging body, functional parts, and assembly
  • fewer handovers in development and industrialization
  • scalable production with the right technology for each requirement

Our Contribution to the Circular Economy: PET Recycling at Fischer Söhne AG

Muri, 25 February 2026 Sustainability is not something we “switch on” for a campaign. It is part of how we operate every day. As a manufacturer of high‑precision plastic solutions, we take responsibility for rthe resources we use, the environment we impact, and the communities we are part of. With the latest environmental certificate from PET‑Recycling Switzerland, we demonstrate how consistent PET bottle collection enables us to contribute directly to the circular economy.

Sustainability Begins in Everyday Actions

In 2025, we collected a total of 87 kilograms of PET beverage bottles. This corresponds to around 3,158 bottles, which PET‑Recycling Switzerland processed into high‑quality recyclate. Through this collection effort, we contributed to savings of 231 kg of CO₂‑equivalents and 62 litres of crude oil.

With approximately 100 employees, this equals 32 bottles per employee — showing how small, everyday actions add up to a meaningful environmental contribution.

You can find our environmental certificate from PET Recycling Switzerland here.

Part of a Nationwide Recycling System

PET‑Recycling Switzerland issues more than 13,600 environmental certificates each year to voluntary collection points across Switzerland — including companies, schools and other organisations. Collection efforts differ by location and structure, but all certified sites share the same objective: supporting an efficient national recycling loop that returns valuable materials to the production cycle.

Our contribution is part of this collective system, which is recognised internationally for its high recycling performance and dense network of collection points.

Anchored in Our Sustainability Strategy

The environmental certificate aligns with the priorities described in our Sustainability Report, where we outline our commitments in resource efficiency, responsible production and environmental stewardship. The CO₂ and crude‑oil savings contribute directly to the Environment dimension of our ESG efforts and reinforce our contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals — particularly:

  • SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production
This goal focuses on using resources efficiently and reducing environmental impacts throughout the entire product lifecycle. By returning PET bottles into a closed recycling loop, we help conserve materials, minimise waste and support more sustainable production patterns.
  • SDG 13 – Climate Action
SDG 13 calls for concrete measures to reduce greenhouse‑gas emissions and strengthen climate resilience. The CO₂ savings achieved through PET recycling contribute directly to this objective by lowering our environmental footprint and supporting Switzerland’s broader climate‑mitigation efforts.

These results show how everyday behaviour—repeated and shared—strengthens larger sustainability ambitions.

Looking Ahead

We aim to further strengthen our internal recycling activities by improving collection processes, raising awareness among employees and maintaining accessible collection infrastructure. Sustainable progress takes shape step by step — supported by conscious behaviour and collective engagement.

Pharmapack Paris 2026: high traffic, sharper conversations

Paris, 22 January 2026 From 21–22 January 2026, Fischer Söhne AG exhibited at Pharmapack Paris (25th anniversary edition). The show delivered what the community expects at its best: focused conversations, decision-makers on the floor, and concrete next steps. According to the organizer’s post-show snapshot, Pharmapack gathered 6,600+ attendees, 430+ exhibitors, and 115 speakers across 80+ sessions, with 65% international visitors representing 164 countries—a genuinely global forum.

What stood out at our stand

Consistently busy booth. Both days brought a steady stream of qualified discussions. We met many existing customers—a valuable chance to meet key contacts face-to-face—and, more importantly, held in-depth talks with new accounts where projects are just starting or in the proposal phase. Most new opportunities came from Europe; we observed comparatively low U.S. presence this year.

Practical focus: Tub & Nest and CMO capabilities. Conversations centered on integration-ready Tub & Nest for aseptic filling of syringes, vials and cartridges and our contract manufacturing for customized, cleanroom-grade injection-molded components—from material selection and design-for-manufacturing to validation, assembly, and logistics.

Sustainability on everyone’s mind. While the conference agenda again elevated sustainability—listed among the show’s key themes—we didn’t see a single “breakthrough” announcement on the floor. Several of our largest customers approached us directly to co-develop circular concepts for the re-use of recycled plastics from the material-intensive Tub & Nest systems. We’ve already consolidated internal know-how and early ideas, and we welcome collaborative evaluations with partners.

Organization & atmosphere

The on-site organization worked smoothly; when anything was needed, support was quick and effective. Networking remained a strong component—exactly what you’d expect from a mature event with 25,723 connections made across two days.

On site for Fischer Söhne AG: Daniel Stratenhoff, Herbert Kaminski, Dieter Döll, Philipp Nehr.

Our takeaway

Pharmapack 2026 reinforced our direction:

  • Tub & Nest as an efficiency lever in aseptic filling.
  • CMO services for custom, cleanroom-grade injection-molded parts.
  • A growing partner demand for circularity in secondary/tertiary packaging around drug delivery.

We left Paris with qualified new leads, stronger relationships, and clear follow-ups—precisely the ingredients that move projects from discussion to delivery.

We’ve already secured our spot for next year: Pharmapack 2027 will take place on 27–28 January in Paris. See you there.

Continue the conversation

If we didn’t meet in Paris—or if you’d like to explore Tub & Nest, CMO capabilities, or circular packaging concepts for your line—our team is happy to arrange a follow-up (virtual or on site).

Swiss Plastics Expo 2026: Community, circularity, and hands-on plastics know-how

Lucerne, 22 January 2026 — From 20–22 January 2026, Fischer Söhne AG and Fischer Söhne Extrusion AG exhibited together at Swiss Plastics Expo in Lucerne. With ~200 exhibitors and around 3,800 visitors, the show once again proved to be the Swiss plastics community’s meeting point—from material suppliers and machine manufacturers to converters and solution providers.

What stood out on the show floor

Two topics ran through presentations and conversations alike: AI (from process monitoring to smart assistance) and sustainability (material efficiency, recyclates, circularity). The fair’s symposium featured 60 talks across two tracks, offering practical inputs on digital technologies and the circular economy—a strong framework for discussions at the stands.

Networking mattered just as much as technology. The Wine & Cheese gathering on day two created a relaxed setting for deeper exchanges; many visitors highlighted the value of quality time with suppliers and peers away from the busy aisles.

Highlights at our stand

Tubs & Nests. On the Fischer Söhne AG side, our Tub & Nest solutions once again drew attention for integration-ready aseptic handling and efficient line compatibility—a recurring highlight for visitors from diagnostics and pharma.

A small detail with big reach. Our cotton tote bags were spotted all over the hall—an unplanned but welcome sign of how far conversations from our stand traveled.

Community and knowledge transfer

Beyond equipment and materials, the KUNSTSTOFF.swiss “Zmorge” offered a friendly breakfast with excellent coffee, “Gipfeli,” and time to compare notes with fellow members—exactly the kind of exchange that keeps the Swiss plastics ecosystem vibrant.

Apprentices on tour

Because the show was close to home, our commercial apprentices joined the team to explain products and services, practice customer conversations, and explore the latest developments. Our plastics technician apprentices also toured the exhibits to see where the market is headed. True to form, they used the opportunity to create short TikTok clips—sharing a learner’s view of the industry with their peers. For us, this is training in action: real context, real questions, and real engagement.

Our takeaway

Swiss Plastics Expo 2026 was less about big deals on the day and more about meaningful connections: targeted discussions, new contacts, and invitations to continue technical exchanges—particularly around recyclate use, extrusion blow-molded conductive packaging, and line-ready life-science packaging. For Fischer Söhne, it was also the right moment to show the market our two-company setup:

  • Fischer Söhne AG for injection molding, life-science components, and Tub & Nest;
  • Fischer Söhne Extrusion AG for extrusion-blow-molded packaging, including standard and custom canisters with decoration and testing.

Together, this gives customers focused expertise with seamless collaboration—from concept and toolmaking to validated production, assembly, and logistics.

Continue the conversation

If we didn’t catch each other in Lucerne—or if you’d like a deeper dive into recyclate strategies, conductive multilayer EBM, or Tub & Nest / CMO capabilities—our teams in Muri are happy to set up a follow-up (virtual or on site).

High visitor numbers, high relevance. Our stand saw consistently strong traffic across all three days. We held many qualified discussions with pharma manufacturers, CDMOs and device producers—and collected new leads from Europe, Asia and North America. The international mix was tangible and valuable.

Our syringe-shaped ballpoint pens were a big hit once again.

Tub & Nest in focus. Our Tub & Nest system drew sustained attention for efficient aseptic filling: compatibility with established equipment, robust handling, and a clear path to process efficiency. The design and functionality resonated with stakeholders who need reliability at scale—without compromising speed, cleanliness or integration.

Inspiring discussions on stage at CHPI Frankfurt

CMO capabilities for injection-molded parts. Alongside Tub & Nest, we discussed our role as a contract manufacturer for customized, cleanroom-grade injection-molded components. Topics ranged from material selection and design-for-manufacturing to validation, assembly and logistics—reflecting the industry’s need for partners who can bridge engineering and execution.

Happy Hour with live music in the Gallery

Happy Hour, real networking. The Happy Hour with live music in the Gallery proved to be more than a social add-on: the atmosphere was excellent, participation was high, and the conversations went deeper—turning first exchanges into concrete next steps.

Thank you for stopping by!

Customer and partner dialogues. A core element of the fair for us was the exchange with existing customers and the exploration of new collaborations. From development projects to roadmap discussions, the feedback we received was practical, pointed and market-relevant.

Key conversations we’re taking forward

  • Aseptic filling & line integration: Matching Tub & Nest parameters to line capabilities and throughput targets.
  • Combination products: Interfaces between primary packaging, delivery devices and automation.
  • Quality & scalability: Cleanroom production, documentation, and timelines for industrialization.
  • Sustainability & materials: Interest in mono-material approaches and recyclability in secondary/tertiary elements.
Plenty of takeaways and new leads—conversations today, collaborations tomorrow.

Teamwork that shows

Events like CPHI demand coordination: from stand preparation and demos to back-to-back meetings and follow-ups. The cooperation between business development, technical experts and marketing ensured we could move seamlessly from high-level requirements to concrete solution paths—right at the stand. Thank you to everyone who contributed on and off site.

We had a great time in Frankfurt!

Our takeaway

A successful appearance: strong visibility, valuable new contacts, and actionable input from the market. CPHI Frankfurt strengthened our position in an international environment—and confirmed the relevance of our offering, from Tub & Nest to CMO services for custom injection-molded parts.

Given the event’s importance, we’re already looking ahead: Fischer Söhne AG will exhibit at CPHI 2026 in Milan. We look forward to continuing the conversations and sharing further developments.

Let’s continue the conversation

If we didn’t meet in Frankfurt—or if you’d like a deeper dive into Tub & Nest or our contract manufacturing capabilities—our team is happy to set up a follow-up (virtual or on site).

Training the next generation: Apprenticeships at Fischer Söhne

Muri, 30 October 2025 At Fischer Söhne AG, vocational training is a strategic commitment to our customers and partners. By educating the next generation of specialists, we safeguard the competencies that matter most in life science and industrial plastics: precision, reliability, and continuity. This year, we welcomed four new apprentices into our teams — and our 2026 cohort is already fully allocated. That pipeline of talent is one of the reasons our customers can count on stable quality and delivery for the long term.

Why this matters to our customers and partners

Customer-first mentality at Fischer Söhne
  • Quality by design: Training embeds our quality mindset early — from documentation discipline and in-process checks to safe, repeatable setup procedures in production.
  • Capacity you can trust: A strong junior talent bench supports resiliency in cleanroom manufacturing, tooling, assembly, and logistics.
  • Innovation from the shop floor: Apprentices bring fresh perspectives that translate into smarter fixtures, smoother changeovers, and continuous improvement in everyday operations.
  • ESG in action: Investing in Swiss apprenticeships strengthens our community and supports responsible, future-ready industry.

What we teach — and where apprentices contribute

Learning and fun go hand in hand at Fischer Söhne

Plastics Technician (Kunststofftechnologe/-login EFZ)

Apprentices learn to produce precise plastic parts on modern injection molding and extrusion blow molding equipment, monitor full production runs, conduct quality checks, and set up and convert machines and automation systems, including basic maintenance.

Apprenticeship as a Plastics Technician

Polymechanic (Polymechaniker/in EFZ)

They manufacture mechanical components from drawings, support the development and assembly of tools and fixtures, and gain strong skills in CNC programming and operation alongside conventional turning, milling, drilling, and grinding.

Apprenticeship as a Polymechanic

Commercial Apprenticeship (Kauffrau/Kaufmann EFZ)

Commercial trainees rotate across the business — administration, sales, purchasing, AVOR (work preparation), accounting, and HR — to understand how an industrial company operates end-to-end in service of customers.

Commercial Apprenticeship

Logistician (Logistiker/in EFZ)

In logistics, apprentices manage inbound/outbound goods, operate forklifts, and stage orders for dispatch — working within a large, 7,500+ pallet-space warehouse to ensure reliable material flow.

Across all paths, our guiding principle is the same: broad, well-founded, and practice-oriented training in a successful, internationally active industrial company.

Apprenticeship as a Logistician

How training is integrated into our operations

  • On-the-job learning: Real customer projects and real machines from day one — always with supervision and defined learning goals.
  • Tooling & industrialization focus: Apprentices contribute to tool maintenance and fixture-making, accelerating time-to-stable-production.
  • Quality culture: Routine checks, result logging, and clean handovers are trained as core habits — the basis for consistent outcomes.
  • Supply-chain readiness: Rotations and logistics training ensure that material and information flow match customer expectations.

Thank you to our mentors — and to our customers

Our trainers and teams invest time and attention to develop capable young professionals. That commitment pays off directly for our customers and partners: a skilled workforce, stable processes, and the confidence that the expertise behind your products will be there — today and tomorrow.
