Training the next generation: Apprenticeships at Fischer Söhne
Muri, 30 October 2025 — At Fischer Söhne AG, vocational training is a strategic commitment to our customers and partners. By educating the next generation of specialists, we safeguard the competencies that matter most in life science and industrial plastics: precision, reliability, and continuity. This year, we welcomed four new apprentices into our teams — and our 2026 cohort is already fully allocated. That pipeline of talent is one of the reasons our customers can count on stable quality and delivery for the long term.
Why this matters to our customers and partners

- Quality by design: Training embeds our quality mindset early — from documentation discipline and in-process checks to safe, repeatable setup procedures in production.
- Capacity you can trust: A strong junior talent bench supports resiliency in cleanroom manufacturing, tooling, assembly, and logistics.
- Innovation from the shop floor: Apprentices bring fresh perspectives that translate into smarter fixtures, smoother changeovers, and continuous improvement in everyday operations.
- ESG in action: Investing in Swiss apprenticeships strengthens our community and supports responsible, future-ready industry.
What we teach — and where apprentices contribute

Plastics Technician (Kunststofftechnologe/-login EFZ)
Apprentices learn to produce precise plastic parts on modern injection molding and extrusion blow molding equipment, monitor full production runs, conduct quality checks, and set up and convert machines and automation systems, including basic maintenance.

Polymechanic (Polymechaniker/in EFZ)
They manufacture mechanical components from drawings, support the development and assembly of tools and fixtures, and gain strong skills in CNC programming and operation alongside conventional turning, milling, drilling, and grinding.

Commercial Apprenticeship (Kauffrau/Kaufmann EFZ)
Commercial trainees rotate across the business — administration, sales, purchasing, AVOR (work preparation), accounting, and HR — to understand how an industrial company operates end-to-end in service of customers.

Logistician (Logistiker/in EFZ)
In logistics, apprentices manage inbound/outbound goods, operate forklifts, and stage orders for dispatch — working within a large, 7,500+ pallet-space warehouse to ensure reliable material flow.
Across all paths, our guiding principle is the same: broad, well-founded, and practice-oriented training in a successful, internationally active industrial company.

How training is integrated into our operations

- On-the-job learning: Real customer projects and real machines from day one — always with supervision and defined learning goals.
- Tooling & industrialization focus: Apprentices contribute to tool maintenance and fixture-making, accelerating time-to-stable-production.
- Quality culture: Routine checks, result logging, and clean handovers are trained as core habits — the basis for consistent outcomes.
- Supply-chain readiness: Rotations and logistics training ensure that material and information flow match customer expectations.
Thank you to our mentors — and to our customers

Our trainers and teams invest time and attention to develop capable young professionals. That commitment pays off directly for our customers and partners: a skilled workforce, stable processes, and the confidence that the expertise behind your products will be there — today and tomorrow.
